We'd thought you'd like to see some pictures of the current state of play with work on the tunnels. Over the past few weeks, we've heard a lot from various politicians about how the future of the tunnels has been secured for rail. Our last press release has our reservations, and these image only serve to underline our worries.

Remember, this fight doesn't get seriously set back until the point that Woodhead 1 and 2 tunnels become unusable. No matter what, the wire has to go through Woodhead 3 if 1 and 2 are to be properly repaired. Woodhead 1 and 2 aren't abandoned to the elements even under National Grid's current plans until 2010. So don't give up the good fight. It isn't over until the old tunnels fall down.
